Michael Christensen has been in the construction industry since 1993. He began working as a residential framer in the suburbs of Chicago. Framing post and beam houses, as well as conventional framed homes, he quickly realized his true passion.
He owned a residential remodeling company for over 5 years. At the same time, he attended Northern Illinois University, where he earned a degree in engineering.
He had always dreamed of moving out west. He was immediately hired by a large, respected structural engineering firm in Arizona. While working at the firm, he also built spec homes after receiving his General Contractor’s license in 2002.
His job duties as a structural engineer included the structural design of residential homes up to 17,000 square feet, and commercial buildings made of concrete, steel, wood, and masonry up to 3 stories. His duties also included structural building inspections in numerous city jurisdictions.
In 2004, he decided to follow his passion of building houses full time. His Midwest work ethic combined with his integrity, professionalism, and experience make the heart of his company, Peak One Builders. He enjoys the various challenges that come with building a new home. He listens to what a homeowner wants, and will do whatever it takes to bring their ideas to fruition. With his guidance, planning, and expertise, you can rest assured that you are in good hands from day one.
One major benefit of working with a small company, in addition to being treated like family, is the time you are able to spend directly with the builder. Whether a quick chat to go over minor details on the phone, or sitting down whenever needed to discuss changes, plans, or concerns, Peak One Builders will be available when it is most convenient for you.
Peak One Builders pay attention to detail, no matter how casual or extravagant the home they are building might be. Mike encourages ideas and input throughout the entire building process. He builds each home as if he were going to move in it himself. When asked what his favorite, and perhaps most overlooked aspect of design is, he will probably laugh and tell you ceilings. “A unique ceiling not only gives a great wow-factor, but it can also inspire people to think outside the box they may be living in within their own lives. Nothing brings me more satisfaction than creating a space where people can relax and be comfortable. It feels really great to know I had a part in that. A home shouldn’t be just a place to store your things, it should be a place where you want to spend your time.”

Lance Buck originates from Seattle, WA but decided to move to the Arizona desert in 1999. He is a graduate of Washington State University where he majored in Sport Management and minored in Business Administration.
After spending a couple of seasons in the front office for the Yakima Bears (who at the time were a minor league affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers) then working with The Drew Bledsoe Foundation, Lance became a property claims adjustor for Crawford and Company Insurance where he inspected class action claims throughout the Northwest against building product manufacturers. Lance’s experience as a property claims adjustor introduced him to the insurance restoration industry, which is where he has been now for over 10 years.
Outside of work Lance enjoys classic muscle cars, watching football, playing poker, going to concerts (especially Van Halen or the Dave Matthews Band), and simply just spending time with his family or friends.
